Richard R. Wood

Richard R. Wood, 66, died suddenly on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, one of five children of Floyd and Edna (Holbrook) Wood.  He grew up in Chelmsford, MA and graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford Ma.  He went on to work as a software Engineering Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation which later became Hewlett Packard in Nashua, NH.  He lived in Hudson, NH for a number of years before moving to Londonderry and most recently to Bristol, NH.  Richard spent many years married to the love of his life Betsy. The two were inseparable.  They loved spending time together, vacationing in the Caribbean, enjoying good food, and spending time at home with their dogs.  He dreamed of living his retired years on a beach in Costa Rica and Bocas del Toro, Panama with his wife Betsy by his side.  Richard loved his three daughters and his two step sons.  He enjoyed time spent with his grandsons Liam, Gabe, and Teddy.  Family members include his loving wife of almost 23 years, Lizabeth “Betsy” (Verduga) Wood; his daughter, Amanda Babiarz of Bedford as well as two other daughters Melissa Richard and Jennifer Cable; stepsons Leo Cullinan of Manchester and Jonathon Cullinan of Lawrence, MA; Four grandsons:  Leo Cullinan, Liam Cullinan, Gabriel and Teddy Babiarz; a brother Steve and sisters Cheryl and Roberta. He was predeceased by a brother Sonny.  He will be remembered for his love and passion for life and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
