Lee Nichols Obituary

ASHLAND ---- Lee V. Nichols, 79, died Thursday, March 28, 2024 at his home. 

Lee was born in Salem, OH, to Vaughn and Ruth (Test) Nichols. 

Following graduation from Glenwood High School in Canton, OH, he attended college on a baseball scholarship. He played triple A baseball and was invited to tryout for the Pittsburg Pirates as a left-handed pitcher. He turned down the invitation and opted to get married instead. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Little Silver, NJ.  A lineman electrician by trade, Lee worked for Ohio Power & Light and Jersey Central Power & Light before moving to New Hampshire. In NH, he worked for NH Electric Co-op before finding his home for the Town of Ashland as superintendent of the Ashland Electric Co-op. 

A great advocate and supporter of youth sports, Lee coached Little League baseball and soccer. Always a sports advocate, he followed all teams for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the New England Patriots.

Family members include his high school sweetheart and wife of over 60 years, Karen (Bordner) Nichols; son, Scott (Amy) Nichols; grandchildren Heather (Will) Walker and Kevin (Julie) Nichols; two great-grandchildren; Carrie & Gabriella; brother Roy (Pat) Nichols; and nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 6-8pm in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services/Emmons Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, NH, 03246.
