ALEXANDRIA-Kenneth H. Patten, 89, died Monday, November 6, 2023, after a period of declining health. Ken was the oldest of two sons of Howard and Harriet (Davis) Patten. Most of Ken’s life was spent in Alexandria where he was an active member of the Alexandria United Methodist Church and a founding, charter member of the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department. As a nature lover, Ken enjoyed hiking Mt. Cardigan and camping.
For over 44 years, Ken worked as a machinist for Esty Machine Corp in Bristol as well as serving as groundskeeper for the Alexandria United Methodist Church. After retirement, he and his late wife, Beverly devoted thousands of hours as volunteer drivers for Bristol Community Services. Ken’s life was one of service and devotion to family, God and community. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by the community he called home.
Ken is survived by a daughter Lorraine Steele of Gorham, many generations of nieces and nephews.
Services-Friends and family may call on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 6-8pm at the Emmons Funeral Home, 115 South Main Street, Bristol. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 12 noon at the Riverside Cemetery, Fowler River Road, Alexandria where he will be interred next to his beloved wife. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either the Alexandria United Methodist Church 12 Washburn Road, or the Alexandria Volunteer Firefighters Association, 158 Washburn Rd., Alexandria, NH, 03222.
