THORNTON ---- Katherine Priscilla Jones, 83, of Thornton, NH, passed away
peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Belknap County Nursing Home in Laconia, NH.
She was born on November 26, 1942, in Thornton, NH, to Viola (Applebee) and
Herman Reitsma.
Katherine was educated locally and graduated from a one-room schoolhouse in
Thornton. As a young woman, she was active in 4-H and the Thornton Grange. She
spoke fondly of her early years spent working at Blake Mountain Cabins.
On June 24, 1967, she married Robert G. Jones at Campton Baptist Church. Together, they raised their family in Thornton.
Throughout her life, Katherine enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, and
scrapbooking. Later in life, she found quiet joy in serving as one of Santa's helpers,
handing out small toys and stuffed animals to children at the Plymouth Walmart
during the holiday season.
She is survived by her three children: Lisa Clark and her husband, Jeff, of
Andover, NH; Lori Nash and her husband, Kevin, of Gilford, NH; and Kurtis Jones
of Shelburne, VT; her grandchildren, Brendon, Keenan, Jacqueline, and Madison;
two great-granddaughters; her sister, Violet McCormick; and her brother, Paul
Reitsma.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her infant daughter, Suprina; her
parents, Viola and Herman Reitsma; and her brothers, Albert, Arthur, and Ralph.
The family would like to thank the staff at Belknap County Nursing Home for their
loving care of Kay during her final years.
A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2026 at Pine Grove Cemetery in
Thornton, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
