On August 24, 2023, Heaven gained another angel with the peaceful passing of Elizabeth “Liz” Flanders at Concord Hospital in Concord NH. Liz was born at Franklin Hospital in Franklin NH on April 7th 1953 to Donald F. Flanders and June M. (Gray) Flanders. She graduated from Newfound Memorial High School in Bristol NH in 1971.
Liz enjoyed living in Alexandria, the town where she grew up with her cats whom she adored and loved spending time with her mother June. She was well known for her crafts and baking ability, participating in many bake and craft sales with the Alexandria United Methodist Church where she was a member for many years as a beloved Vacation Bible School and Sunday School Teacher. Liz also sent out the well wishes and other correspondence for the church.
Liz lives on through daughter Melanie (Ken) McCarthy and son Mark (Tracey) Avery. Her mother June as well as siblings: Marion (John) Morgan, Donald (Martha) Flanders Jr, Michael “Jack” (Midge) Flanders, Fred (Sue) Flanders, Tim (Patty) Flanders, and Susie (Bob) Armstrong. Grandchildren: Katie Flanders, Emily Avery, Ethan Avery, Mariah McCarthy and Benjamin McCarthy and many nieces and nephews.
Liz will be cremated and her ashes spread on the family property with immediate family on a future date.
