Donna J. (Thurlow) Austin

-Donna J. Austin, 72, died Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Speare Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.  She was born in Maine and was raised in Derry the daughter of Howard and Margaret (Donovan) Thurlow.  Donna graduated from Pinkerton Academy.  Growing up, the family spent much time at their camp on Beaver Lake.  Her compassion, lead her to working in the health care field as a CNA.  After a 40 year career, she retired from Merrimack County Nursing Home where she was in charge of training the CNA and LNAs who were hired there. 

Donna was an avid reader, often reading one to two books each day.  Together with her husband, they kept a small farm of animals including goats, chickens, guinea hens, cats and dogs and vegetables at their home. 

She will be remembered by friends and family for her love and care for her family and leaves her husband Ronald Austin of Alexandria; two children: Maria Colon and Howard Colon both of Louisiana, two stepchildren: Aline Williamson and Eric Austin; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren and siblings. She is greatly missed by all. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 2:30pm at the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
