Obituary

Amber E. Parshley, 54, died Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Laconia Center-Genesis, after a period of declining health.  Born in Laconia, June 22, 1968, the third of four daughters of Frank and Lillian (Sweeney) Parshley, she grew up in New Hampton.  Following graduation in 1986 from Newfound Memorial High School, she moved around Belknap and Grafton counties.  Most recently, she had returned to Laconia and attended Sacred Heart Church and was active in TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly).  Amber was an advocate for those with disabilities. She helped to facilitate the closure of the Laconia State School and with the formation of People First in Concord, a program for people with disabilities.  She was always a friend to those who needed one and was always a person who spoke her mind.

She is survived by her three sisters: Marion Parshley of Plymouth, Irene Parshley of Winchester, VA, and Lee Parshley of Plymouth; and many cousins, including Harvey Green.

Services-Following cremation, graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 10 AM at the New Hampton Village Cemetery in New Hampton.  Fr. Mark Drouin will officiate.
