Alice (Estes) Daugherty

CONCORD-Alice Ann Estes Daugherty, 73, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Hospice House in Concord.  Born in Bellows Falls, VT, Alice was one of three children of Frank and Marjorie (Wallin) Estes.  The family moved to Concord while Alice was young, and she has been a lifelong resident since.  She graduated from Concord High School in 1967 and went on to work for almost 20 years at the State of NH WIC office and later took a job in the kitchen at Granite Ledges.

Alice was a member of Serenity Chapter #26, Order of Eastern Star and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Concord.  For many years, she filled her free time with square dancing, belonging to local clubs and taking cruise excursions with them to Alaska and Hawaii.  Since moving to Havenwood Heritage Heights, she became involved in their exercise programs, knitting and card groups.  She also took up clowning and was affectionately known as Buttercup.

Alice’s greatest joy was her family and spending time with each of them.  She will be lovingly missed by her daughters: Michelle (Eric) Kirk of Corona, CA; Kristan (Ernie) Tiede of Alton, NH; grandchildren David Dempsey, Dylan, Tanner, and Lyndsey Tiede; sister Virginia (Ed Geffken) Mitchell of Bradenton, FL; brother Richard Estes of Andover, NH; grandpup Buford Kirk, nieces and nephews.
